Never Again: Remembering for the Future

The “Never Again” Holocaust Education Elective will provide middle school students with a meaningful and in-depth learning experience that explores the history of the Holocaust, the stories of survivors and their descendants, generational impact, and the ongoing fight against antisemitism.

The program will feature interviews with Holocaust survivors and children of survivors, as well as discussions on contemporary issues of prejudice, hate, and discrimination. By drawing on personal testimonies and real-world connections, we aim to cultivate empathy, raise awareness, and inspire a collective sense of responsibility to ensure history does not repeat itself—in an effort to foster meaningful, long-term change throughout the broader community.

The goal of this program is to educate middle school students about the Holocaust in a way that is age-appropriate, emotionally engaging, and informative.

Students will:

  • Gain knowledge of the Holocaust’s historical events, causes, and consequences
  • Hear firsthand accounts from Holocaust survivors, providing a personal perspective
  • Listen to the children of survivors and how generational trauma impacted their lives
  • Understand the rise of antisemitism today and its implications
  • Develop critical thinking skills about the dangers of hatred and bigotry, and how they can be active participants in creating a more inclusive society, and
  • Engage with a range of media equipment to plan, film, edit and produce a documentary.
