That students with learning differences grow up to become educators should come as no surprise. Many adults with learning differences reference their educational journey with inspiring them to become educators. The same is true for current Gaynor faculty and staff members. In celebration of Learning Difference Awareness Month, we asked for volunteers to share their experiences with learning differences, and what advice they might give to current Gaynor students and parents.

Soccer Coach Andrew Prasarn said it was, “…a great way to start the season, though the highlight for the students might have been stepping on the bus for the first time and enjoying the camaraderie of traveling together as a team and proudly representing Stephen Gaynor School outside the building!”

Cause for Celebration: Juneteenth
This week the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives approved legislation to commemorate Juneteenth, the national remembrance of the end of slavery in the United States, as a federal holiday. President Biden signed the bill into law on June 17. We have provided some resources to learn more about Juneteenth and how to have conversations with your children about the issues surrounding this important holiday.
